The Department of Anesthesiology was honored to host three fascinating visiting professors from around the world this fall. In September we hosted Dr. Princess L. J. Currence and Dr. Anna Budde. In October, we co-hosted with the Department of Surgery, Dr. Ollie Ljungqvist.
Princess L. J. Currence, DSW, MSW, Assistant Professor, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and Assistant Dean, Inclusive Excellence, Equity & Learning, RUSH Medical College presented “Supporting Diverse Residents: Evolving from Diversity to Inclusive Excellence” as our honored visiting professor on September 13th, 2023.
Dr. Anna Budde, assistant professor of Anesthesiology at University of Minnesota Medical School, was welcomed by the department on September 20th from 6:30-7:30 am, as our Grand Rounds Visiting Professor. She presented virtually “Emergency Out of OR Airway Management.”
On October 4th, our Ralph Water’s Visiting Professor, Dr. Ollie Ljungqvist, professor emeritus at Örebro University Hospital and past chair of ERAS Society, presented a Grand Rounds discussion entitled: “ERAS the ERAS Society Way.” Ljungqvist traveled to us from Sweden and spent the week with the department of Anesthesiology and Department of Surgery.
