Responsible for oversight and management of research activities, including:

  • Department of Anesthesiology Research Program Oversight
  • Research Budgeting
  • Research resources guidance
  • Staffing needs

Responsible for pre-award management of Department of Anesthesiology grants and contracts, including:

  • Identification of funding opportunities
  • Preparation and routing of budgets, proposals and agreements
  • Award set-up, no-cost extensions, and progress reports
  • Scientific editing of proposals, manuscripts, and presentations
  • Site management of purchasing cards
  • Development of templates, EndNote libraries, and literature searches

Responsible for clinical study budget development, initiation, and compliance, including:

  • Protocol feasibility assessment, setup, changes, reporting, and closeout
  • Clinical budget development and CRC time/effort estimation
  • Coordination with UW services (PRC, etc.) and ICTR
  • Recruitment strategies
  • Sponsor liaison/outreach and site qualification
  • Register studies on Clinicaltrials.gov

Responsible for clinical study set-up and conduct, including:

  • Developing of protocols, study calendars, and project timelines
  • Informed consent, HIPAA release, and study team training verification
  • IRB submissions, exemptions and medical records review
  • Coordination with satellite sites
  • Survey creation and REDCap study building
  • Facilitation of data requests

Responsible for post award issues, commitments, revenue transfers, and financial deliverables, including:

  • Facilitation of P-card purchases and travel arrangements
  • Grant award reporting and review
  • Management of financial transactions, funding changes, and cost transfers
  • Effort certification
  • Project setup and closeout

Provides administrative support for research activities, including:

  • Grant proposal support and back-up
  • Back-up for administrative activities
  • Support for special projects, preparation of reports, PPT presentations, correspondence, proofreading and editing
  • Coordinate DoA faculty publication and presentation listing
  • Statistical consultation and initial analysis
  • Research design and randomization strategies
  • Power analysis and data analysis
  • R programming Simulations
  • SAS, JMP, PRISM
