Calvin Harberg, MD and Brandon Hernandez, MD presented posters at the International Society of Heart and Lung Transplantation (ISHLT), 43rd Annual Meeting & Scientific Sessions held 19-22 April 2023 at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, CO, USA.

ISHLT website reported that more than 3,600 people in the ISHLT international community gathered to exchange ideas, reconnect, and collaborate over the latest science.
Dr. Harberg presented the poster Looking for Zebras: Non-Human Leukocyte Antigen Antibody Mediated Rejection Leading to Hyperacute Rejection. Harberg is an incoming 2023-2024 Chief Resident at the University of Wisconsin Department of Anesthesiology in Clinical Anesthesia year 2. His undergraduate institution is the University of Wisconsin and he attended medical school at the Medical College of Wisconsin.
Dr. Hernandez presented a poster entitled, Pneumatosis Intestinalis After Lung Transplantation: A Single Institution Case Series. Hernandez is a 2022-2023 Chief Resident at the University of Wisconsin Department of Anesthesiology in Clinical Anesthesia year 3. His undergraduate institution is the University of Wisconsin – Madison and he also attended medical school at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Next year, Dr. Hernandez is heading to Adult Cardiothoracic Anesthesia and Critical Care Medicine Fellowship, University of Michigan.
Brandon Hernandez was recently elected the April 2023 “Resident of the Month” honor. This is a new peer nomination program piloted by Residency Program Director, Eric Simon, MD and Associate PDs, Dr. Sabrina Sam and Dr. Patrick Meyer.
